A familiar face will be returning to Meadowbrook Golf Club as its new pro.
Darren Rodgers started as a junior member at the club before turning pro and working at two Logan courses – Riverlakes and Meadowbrook.
His biggest successes as a pro came at Mackay Golf Club where he was Queensland’s professional of the year, three-time tournament director of the year, and golf journalist of the year for reports on Channel 7.
“We welcome Darren and his family back to Brisbane and are sure that all our members and guests will enjoy his wisdom and experience,” golf course operator and director Tom Linskey said.
Mr Rodgers worked with Mr Linskey 10 years ago to set up an Australian Golf Schools operation at the Gold Coast, and will return to help with one of the largest junior golf programs in Australia at Meadowbrook.
From 2013-2017, Mr Rodgers was golf operations manager at Shepparton Golf Club, before switching to Mooroopna Golf Club, also in Shepparton, as head professional.
