Local First Nations artist, and Dharug woman, Belle Artates will this NAIDOC week showcase her artwork and share her stories to the Logan community at her workplace.
Ms Artates, an employee of Suncorp Bank, will exhibit one of her artworks at the bank’s Loganholme branch on Thurday 6 July.
The piece is titled ‘Walamangyini budbud Ngurra’, translates to ‘Open your heart to Country’.
“It represents the journey we’re all on and leaving our mark on the earth and on Country,” Ms Artates said.
“In addition, it represents the East Coast floods, and the impact is has had on not only our Country but our people.
“We have such a strong connection with our community – we are there for them during the good times and through the hard times.”
