The Griffith Sport Logan Fun Run is returning, and the event’s organisers are promising a fun day for the whole family.
Griffith’s event manager Courtney Royds said there was “something for everyone” on the day.
“With courses ranging from the 1km Junior Dash to the 10km run, this vibrant event includes family-friendly activities, music, and the exciting Schools Challenge,” Ms Royds said.
“[It] promotes family fitness and community spirit with options for all ages and abilities.”
The event will run from 6.30-10.30am on Sunday 26 May at the Griffith University Logan campus.
Four different races, all spanning different distances, will be offered, including the 1km junior dash, and the 2.5km, 5km and 10km runs.
The day will also feature a range of entertainment: pre-race warmups, a DJ, Recovery Stations, stalls (including an LSKD pop up and a free massage from AllSport Physiotherapy), and a Brisbane Heat Skills Zone.
“Plus, every dollar raised helps provide essential support services for families with seriously ill or injured children,” Ms Royds said.
“The event raises much needed funds for Ronald McDonald House South East QLD and we also host a Schools Challenge allowing local schools to compete for $1000.”
The school race will see runners from several school’s face-off against each other for a $1000 prize.
The registered schools so far are the race’s 2023 winner John Paul College, Canterbury College and Wishart State School.
More than $3300 has been raised so far – Griffiths target is $5000.
