One of the key transformations of the Springwood Mall $16 redevelopment is the addition of 20m travelators near
Woolworths.

Mall officials say these travelators will provide safe, weather-proof access to the centre from an expanded undercroft car park, delivering easier pedestrian movement and trolley-management for customers and retailers.

Preparation work to install the travelators is underway, with construction occurring to accommodate them at the western end of the centre.

Earthmoving is continuing to build the undercroft car park where another 94 undercover and external car parks will be added.
Ben Griffin is director of Geon Property, who manage the centre on behalf of owners Chin Hong Investments Corporation Pty Ltd.

He said more than 8000 cubic metres of soil had now been removed from the site to create the space for the new car parks.

“The creation of the undercroft car park is a big undertaking. We have already removed approximately 8000 cubic metres of material so far and we estimate that another 2500 cubic metres of material will be removed over the next two weeks.”

Mr Griffin said there was a lot of local interest in the evolution of Springwood Mall.

“And we are happy to update everyone via our website and our social media pages,” he said.

“Our retailers, the Kane Construction building team and the centre management team thank everyone for their understanding and patience during the redevelopment.”

Woolworths continues to trade as normal during these changes, with customer car parking available in the undercroft car park directly underneath the store or in the car park outside of Target.
