One lucky couple have celebrated their wedding anniversary with a “surreal” $2.3 million Keno win.
The Logan Village lovebirds, who are regular punters, always play the same numbers – their birthdates.
So when it came to celebrating their anniversay with a lunch at the local pub, followed by their regular game of Keno, it was no different.
Little did they know, they were in a for a big surprise – scoring the Keno 10 Spot jackpot and winning a total prize of $2,372,912.70.
“It’s so surreal! It hasn’t sunk in,” the winning woman shared.
“I thought at first that we’d won $230,000, not $2.3 million.”
Her husband said they “always play the same numbers”.
“We always pick on each other and say, ‘Your numbers didn’t come up but mine did’,” he said.
“But this time, all of our numbers came up.
“I’m absolutely speechless. We’re over the moon.”
When asked how they planned to embrace their new status as multi-millionaires, the couple said they recently retired and now looked forward to helping their children.
“We’re both recently retired, which is perfect timing,” the husband said.
“This is amazing.”
