Two arrests have been made less than a week after police announced they were increasing their presence in north Logan due to a crime spike that began in October.
Police believe the offenders are part of a group linked to crimes committed between late December 2024 and early February 2025.
A 33-year-old Waterford West man was arrested on 14 February and faces multiple charges, including two counts of receiving tainted property, and one count each of entering a vehicle with intent to commit an indictable offence, armed robbery in company using violence, unlawful possession of a firearm, and contravening a police direction.
He was denied bail and is scheduled to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on 19 March.
On 16 February, a 29-year-old Rochedale South man was arrested in Loganholme and charged with two counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count of possession of tainted property.
He was also denied bail and is set to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on 24 March.
The arrests come as part of a broader police effort to curb property crime in the region.
An Investigation Centre has been established to support the operation, staffed by officers and detectives from both the Logan and South Brisbane districts, alongside the Crime and Intelligence Command.
Intelligence analysts are working to identify further connections and assist ongoing investigations.
Acting Chief Superintendent Mark Thompson said police remain focused on preventing, disrupting, and investigating criminal activity.
“Community safety is our first priority. Our officers are working tirelessly to identify, locate, and prosecute those responsible for these offences,” he said.
“Police will continue to pursue further offenders, with additional charges expected. High-visibility patrols remain in place, and our investigative teams are actively targeting those involved in serious property crime.”
