The Yarrabilba Christmas Carols are set to return this December, with organisers expecting another large turnout at San Damiano College.
The event, hosted by the Logan Village and Districts Community Centre, will run from 4pm to 8pm on 6 December.
Only three years in, the celebration is quickly becoming one of the area’s fastest-growing festive traditions.
Logan Village community centre secretary Maggie Finley said last year’s carols drew an estimated 2500 people, with numbers climbing each year as Yarrabilba continues to grow.
Ms Finley said the night would offer “something for everyone”, with a full stage program, market stalls, food trucks and plenty of free family activities.
A purpose-built six-metre by four-metre stage will run non-stop entertainment from local schools, dancers, musicians and community groups.
Two MCs will host the evening, including councillor Nathan St Ledger.
One of the most popular moments each year is Santa’s arrival at 5pm, when he rides into the grounds on a police ATV.
Ms Finley said it was a highlight for local children, made even better by the return of free Santa photos, sponsored by Salvos Community for Children.
Carols-goers will also be invited to join a community sing-along, complete with printed songbooks.
“This year we’ve got the 12 Days of Christmas and all the cards coming up so everyone can sing along,” Ms Finley said.
The night will end with a laser light show.
Although the carols are one of the centre’s flagship celebrations, Ms Finley said they formed part of a wider push to support and connect Yarrabilba’s rapidly growing population.
“We know what’s needed in Yarrabilba,” she said.
She said local organisations such as Strong Beginnings had helped identify community needs through surveys and ongoing engagement, informing the centre’s calendar of events.
The centre also runs free movie nights in Yarrabilba and Logan Village, and will launch a Skilling Queenslanders for Work program in early 2026.
Ms Finley said the community would continue to see more local events and initiatives aimed at bringing residents together.
