Police arrest Yarrabilba man after search warrant last month

Officers from Logan’s Tactical Crime Squad have charged a Yarrabilba man, aged 22, with weapons and drug-related offenses after carrying out a search warrant.

On 24 January, police received information about a man who they allege was attempting to sell illegally obtained guns and ammunition online.

Acting on this information, police searched a Springbrook Street, Yarrabilba property where they found eight guns, cocaine, cash, and drug utensils.

Police could not locate the man when searching the property, but today (Friday, 6 February) intercepted a silver Nissan Navara linked to the man, arresting him at the scene.

Police charged the man with 22 offences related to illegal weapons possession, including guns, ammunition and a knife, drug possession, and suspected stolen property possession.

Detective Acting Inspector Kent Ellis said the efforts of Logan police and crime squad officers.

“Taking firearms, drugs and other illegal items off the streets directly contributes to making our communities safer.

“This result reflects the strong collaboration between our intelligence teams and frontline investigators, and the commitment of officers who work tirelessly to disrupt organised and serious crime.”

He is expected to appear in Beaudesert Magistrates Court on 24 March.
