As a small gesture of thanks to the local community, Hyperdome Shopping Centre partnered with Blue Care to donate over 250 resplendently red poinsettia pot plants to residents in aged-care facilities through the festive season.
“This year, the limit Covid-19 placed on elderly residents who have not been able to enjoy their usual interaction with family and the community has inspired Hyperdome Shopping Centre to donate the living gifts to deliver some Christmas cheer,” Hyperdome centre manager Brian Turner said.
The poinsettias, known as the flower of Christmas, were on display in-centre as part of Hyperdome’s living Christmas tree.
A community project for over 5 years, the tree’s colour is a nod to Logan’s vibrant community spirit.
“This year we were incredibly delighted to partner with Blue Care to donate the poinsettias to residents of aged-care facilities in our local area, bringing not only a smile to their faces but also to our entire team and community that will continue on even when planted in the local area.”
“The joy and the memories these gifted plants brought to our residents makes me smile with happiness,” Blue Care general manager Donna Clift said.
“On behalf of Blue Care we are incredibly thankful for Hyperdome’s generosity this Christmas.”
The poinsettias were distributed across four Blue Care residential facilities including Springwood Yurana Care Facility, Bethania Retirement Village, Carbrook Wirunya Retirement Village and Redland Bay Yarrabee Aged Care Facility.
