Seniors from across Logan’s west have been invited to “connect and celebrate” at the inaugural Southside Seniors Expo.
The free community event will feature more than 60 stalls showcasing services, information, and access to local small businesses that span a range of industries.
These will include health and wellbeing, travel, finance, hobbies, aged care services, lifestyle options, volunteering opportunities, and more.
The event will be held at the Calamvale Community College Sports Hall on Wednesday 1 October, from 9am to 2pm.
According to a statement released by the event’s organiser, local Algester MP and the shadow minister for seniors Leeanne Enoch, there will be something for everyone at the expo – whether you’re seeking practical support, exploring new interests, or simply looking
to connect with others in the community.
The expo will also include presentations from organisations such as National Seniors, Queensland Rail Travel and the Office of Fair Trading, along with giveaways and opportunities to speak directly with experts and service providers.
Ms Enoch said the expo was designed to assist seniors right across the community.
“This event is about celebrating our seniors and giving them access to the tools, services, and social networks that help them live full and connected lives,” she said.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for residents from all across south Brisbane and Logan
west to come together, grab a cuppa, and check out the services on offer.”
