For the first time ever, the Beenleigh Show will host the Aussie FMX L.E.D light show – a freestyle motorcross show performed in complete darkness with L.E.D lights illuminating riders as they flip through the air.
Aussie FMX Director, Brodie Carmichael said the new show is expected to bring in a large audience.
“We haven’t been at the Beenleigh show for a while now, about seven years, so this is a massive draw card for the show,” he said.
“This year we have a brand-new show called the Aussie FMX L.E.D show, where our riders will be riding and flipping upside down through the air in complete darkness with L.E.D lights illuminating their bikes.”
“Something like this is typically only seen in larger indoor stadiums so for this to be at the Beenleigh Show is really exciting.”
Mr Carmichael has been in the industry for over 20 years; he is a three times World Record holder and competes in the Nitro World Games FMX World Championships. He will also be riding on the day, alongside his teammates including Ozzy the Kangaroo (a back-flipping kangaroo).
Mr Carmichael said in the new show, riders will fly up to 75 feet in the air.
“We have a 2.6 metre kicker ramp and we fly up to 75 foot in the air, often taking our hands off the handles and bike for tricks and there’s lots of flipping upside down in our backflip combos and more,” he said.
“Then we turn the lights off and the L.E.Ds come on, illuminating the riders and their bikes in a spectacular show.”
Mr Carmichael said in previous years, the motorcross show has been a huge success at the Beenleigh show.
“In the previous years we have done a show, it has been a huge success and a favourite for many,” he said.
“Now combined with the rodeo and our new L.E.D aspect, I believe it’s going to be the biggest Beenleigh show ever.”
