Award-winning brewery Perentie is giving away a year’s worth of beer this month to celebrate its first birthday.
Located at Distillery Road Market (DRM) in Eagleby, the brewery and its neighbouring precinct will celebrate the milestone over four days with live music and entertainment, prizes, and a limited-edition birthday brew.
And for every $30 spent, patrons will receive a scratchie ticket.
While there are hundreds of prizes to be won – beer cartons, stubby coolers, hats and t-shirts – one of the scratchies has a grand prize of one year’s worth of Perentie beer.
The brewery opened on 16 December 2023 and has since brought home awards from several national beer competitions.
Founder Kenton Campbell, who is also the brains behind Zarraffa’s Coffee and DRM, bought the site in 2015.
He said the plan was always to build a “bespoke, local brewery”.
Costing $6 million, the facility can brew up to one-million litres of beer.
“I’m beyond proud of what we have achieved at Perentie Brewing Co. and the whole DRM precinct over the past year,” he said.
“Clinching a string of awards in the first six months of operation, is testament to our team’s dedication and the local expertise that goes into every batch and brew we produce.”
The main celebrations will be on Sunday 15 December.
On Thursday 12, trivia will run from 6.30pm.
The evening of Friday 13 will feature live music on the outdoor stage.
A Christmas Market and eight hours of live music will take up the afternoon on Saturday 14.
And Sunday will offer stand-up comedy, live music, markets and more – starting at 8am.
