A local shopping centre is getting creative in an attempt to fill vacancies among retailers and hospitality outlets in the lead-up to Christmas.
Hyperdome Shopping Centre is hosting a recruitment drive from tomorrow (Wednesday) until Saturday.
The “Jobs Fair” provides local job seekers access to genuine employment opportunities across fulltime, part-time, and casual roles.
It’s the first time such an event has been held at the centre, and promises roles across its broad retail portfolio, including national
fashion and lifestyle brands, through to local food and beverage vendors.
A shortage of skilled workers has been well documented, across all industries, including teaching, manufacturing, aged care and others.
The Jobs Fair aims to connect local people with a range of prospective jobs and provide access to a suite of virtual and on-site recruitment
support services.
Services will include training workshops – such as cover letter writing and interview technique advice – and complimentary headshot photos for LinkedIn.
Hyperdome’s centre manager, Brian Turner said the event was at a crucial time for retail and hospitality partners seeking new hires ahead of the year’s busiest retail period.
“We’re excited to invite the community to our Jobs Fair, where we’re able to provide a local platform to help job-seekers connect with prospective employers across our renowned portfolio of brands,” Mr Turner said.
“By hosting a Jobs Fair here at Hyperdome, we are able to support local retailers and businesses as we know they have a significant number of vacancies to fill.”
The jobs fair is open 10am-4pm and applicants encouraged to register at hyperdomeshopping.qicre.com.
