Home advantage: Waterford Demons score new clubhouse

The Waterford Demons Rugby League Club has received a new clubhouse ahead of the season start.

Last week, the revitalised Noffke Farm Park officially opened in Meadowbrook.

The $1.825 million project features a a club room, commercial kitchen, public amenities, outdoor
viewing area, office, storeroom, gym and maintenance shed.

There is also a new carpark, the park will be getting a lighting upgrade in the coming months.

The Waterford Demons Rugby League club president, Glenn Bochow, said the new facility would help the club reach new heights.

“Our volunteers are the backbone of our club and without them we would not exist,” Mr Bochow said.

“The new club is a reward for all our members and volunteers who work tirelessly to keep the club running.

“It has enabled us to put back on display our club’s history that has been stored in boxes for the past few years… it has also allowed us to gain a source of income by hiring it out to our members for functions, as well as hold our own club functions.”

Mayor Darren Power said council was proud to support community sporting clubs with important facility upgrades.

“Our local sporting clubs are central in establishing active and healthy community,” Cr Power said.

“Council continues to invest in the development and growth of our grassroots sporting groups and emerging athletes with quality facilities that benefit the wider community, like this new clubhouse in Noffke Farm Park.”
