Highs and lows; Logan’s petrol prices

Some of the cheapest and dearest petrol in the greater Brisbane area can be found right here in Logan.

An RACQ analysis of petrol prices across the September 2025 quarter found Underwood’s Oom Energy provided the second cheapest petrol in the region, with an average unleaded petrol price of $1.60 per litre.

The area’s least expensive petrol station is only 0.2 cents cheaper at $1.598, and can be found just outside Logan’s borders at Rocklea.

Also making the top 10 cheapest stations list is United Slacks Creek with an average unleaded price of $1.61.

Conversely, the Ampol at Beenleigh proved the most expensive in the region, according to RACQ, with an average unleaded price of $2.099.

Other Logan stations to make the list include Ampol Foodary North Maclean at $2.021, 7-Eleven Flagstone at $2.018, and 7-Eleven Flagstone Central at $2.017.

RACQ economic and affordability specialist Ian Jeffreys said locals could find “reliably low prices” around Underwood, Woodridge, Slacks Creek and Kuraby.

“The low prices are largely driven by independents in these areas,” Dr Jeffreys said.

“When retailers hike their prices, they will typically jump up by 50 cents overnight, so it’s important to keep an eye on the cycle and reward the cheaper sites with your business.

To combat these sudden price hikes, RACQ is advocating for market regulation – including a proposed 5cpl daily cap on price increases to flatten and shorten the cycles.

“Earlier this year, the Queensland Government confirmed it was considering RACQ’s proposals, and we’re now working on modelling to help make market regulation a reality,” Dr Jeffreys said.

“Greater Brisbane residents deserve a fair go.

“Queensland’s capital has consistently been one of the most expensive for fuel in the country, and it’s clear the market isn’t working in the best interests of motorists – that needs to change.”
