This week is much like any other for the team at MyCity Logan as we aim to produce quality newspapers which inform, inspire and entertain the people of our proud city.
It does however, mark a milestone in our short lifespan – 100 editions.
We believe that it is important to provide our communities with curated news content which is professionally sourced, fact checked, and balanced in its reporting.
Over the past two years we many people to thank as we’ve grown into a trusted source of news and information.
News production, printing and distribution can be an expensive business. However, the Logan business community has seen benefit in sharing their products and services via the pages of MyCity Logan, and for that we thank you and continue to urge readers to support “local”.
We have always believed that if we produce a news outlet which prides itself on helping its community with informative news articles, tips and advice; and one which sparks conversation around important issues to the local neighbourhoods of the City of Logan, that we’d be on a path to success.
We continue to deliver 10,000 copies of our newspaper to more than 300 drop-off points in the city, and we know – due to close monitoring of consumption – that almost every copy is read in someone’s home or office.
That’s a readership of around 25,000 people every week (up to 125,000/month), in addition to the people who either subscribe to our digital edition, or read our content online.
Our mission has always to become Logan’s most trusted news source, and we believe we have gone a long way towards achieving that goal.
We do however, realise that you, our readers, are the ultimate judge, which is why we continue to strive to improve.
To those who’ve changed their shopping day to ensure you get a copy, to those who wait for our delivery people to arrive every Tuesday, and to those who pick up a copy as you pass the news stand at your local shopping village – we thank each and every one of you for your loyalty and patronage.
To those who’ve called to say “thank you”, to those who’ve phoned with advice or offered to pay for your copy of MyCity Logan, and to those who’ve taken the time to share thoughts in letters or emails, we thank you because we know that you’ve made a choice to share your time with us.
To those who doubted that a new newspaper would work, we invite you to join the resurgence, try our platforms, collaborate, share ideas and opinions – get to know us, because we welcome you.
Here’s cheers to the next 100 editions.
