Three boys and two girls, aged 12-14, were charged last week with a range of stealing and dangerous driving offences following a police pursuit through Logan.
Around 5.30pm Thursday, the group entered a liquor store on Sherwood Road at Sherwood and allegedly stole a large amount of alcohol.
Police were notified and PolAir commenced tracking the group in an alleged stolen vehicle, a grey Toyota Landcruiser.
The vehicle allegedly drove erratically at high speeds around the Logan area, posing a risk to other road users.
A tyre deflation device was successfully deployed, however the vehicle allegedly continued to drive dangerously on the rims of the car.
Police pursued the vehicle north along the M1 Motorway where it allegedly rammed a marked police vehicle. The four officers inside the vehicle suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital.
Three other police cars were damaged.
The car was stopped near Greenslopes where the four children were taken into police custody.
A 14-year-old Goodna boy was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and stealing. He is due to appear in Brisbane Childrens Court this month.
A 13-year-old Inala boy and a 13-year-old Acacia Ridge girl have been charged with stealing and the unlawful use of a motor vehicle. They are due to appear in Beenleigh Childrens Court in December.
A 13-year-old Marsden girl has been charged with stealing and the unlawful use of a motor vehicle. She is due to appear in Richlands Childrens Court later this month.
A 12-year-old Brighton boy was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and will appear in Brisbane Childrens Court next month.
