Fine finishings and thoughtful design

The green mood lighting from the borders of the ceiling might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but this house is defined by its finishings.

French silver travertine flooring isn’t the only import. And it’s clear that the house was built with luxury in mind.

Sliding doors lead to an outdoor area, allowing for open plan living which was designed with a view to opening the floor to entertain guests.

The separation though, is equally clever, allowing families to close off certain rooms for privacy and comfort.

While the house was built on a block smaller than 600 square metres, the floorplan is spacious and every corner of the house has some aspect of quality finishing to remind people that there was no expense spared.

Mosaic, tailored curtains, 3.4m ceilings, and a gourmet kitchen show that it wasn’t just for show. The house was meant to be lived in.

Budding chefs will note the 40 mm custom-made Caesarstone benchtops, pendant lighting, high end Bosch appliances, and if evidence is in the detail, the in-built coffee machine is sure proof.

The grey earthy tones of the walls blend with the timbers of some of the doors, kitchen cabinets and outdoor living area ceiling.

A freestanding tub in the bathroom is a luxurious touch, as are the stunning rock wall feature, porcelain tiles on all the walls, and quality finishings at the dual basins.

In the stairwell, there’s a modern hanging chandelier,  and the master’s walk-in robe is a nice partner to the bathroom.

Outside, there are landscaped gardens which lead to the indoor-outdoor living plan, cleverly separated by sliding doors to create comfortable living areas when required.

Other features include a butler’s pantry, a guest bathroom on the lower level, powder room, breakfast bar and an extra driveway for a caravan or boat.

Upstairs, there’s a landing area with timber flooring and carpet in the bedrooms.

The second storey also makes good use of views to the surrounding neighbourhood.
