Ex-display homes a popular option

FIONA and Frank Henneuse-Blunt bought an ex-display home a few years ago when the company that built it no longer needed it.

On Peppertree Drive, the Newstart Homes ex-display – built in 2016 – includes the latest fixtures and technology, as well as extras not included in a standard build.

“We bought the display home for the family to live in and to enjoy,” Mrs Henneuse-Blunt said.

“Show homes are well looked after and not really lived in, so there was no real wear and tear, and it was always kept looking its best.”

Mr and Mrs Henneuse-Blunt said one reason they bought the home was because of the extras.

“The specifications were higher,” Mr Nenneuse-Blunt said.

“For example, higher ceilings and doors, it had the latest fixtures and fitting styles, a well-thought-out room plan, and extra features not usually included as standard, like surround sound from Bluetooth speakers in the ceilings.

“The rumpus room has its own split cycle air conditioner and its own double sliding door entrance, which made the perfect home office.

“Also, the home is fitted with stainless steel appliances, a security system and ducted air conditioning throughout.”

On a 3.75acre lot, there’s also a wet room off the master bedroom with a freestanding bath and double shower, a butler’s pantry and an outdoor fitted kitchen with a gas barbecue plumbed in.

Ex-display homes are a popular option.

Jimboomba local, Karen Dickson-Murley bought a Metricon ex-display home back in 2018 and she said it was a best thing she ever did.

“We put in an offer at the right time as the display was nearing the end, so we got our dream home,” she said.

“It was exactly what we were looking for and we were only going to duplicate it in another build.”

Mrs Dickson-Murley said the best thing about buying an ex-display home is the high quality.

“In a display they showcase all the high-end features, so the finishes and fixtures are of a high quality and very luxurious,” she said.

“We didn’t have to change much at all, we just redid the garden to our liking.”

Mr and Mrs Henneuse-Blunt said they will miss their Peppertree Drive display home.

“We have reluctantly decided to sell due a change of work, to be closer to work,” Mrs Henneuse-Blunt said.

“We will miss the space and easy living of our home and the beautiful park like gardens, as well as the beautiful sunsets and the birds and visits from the kangaroos.

“Our message to the new owners is to relax and enjoy living in a beautiful home with lovely neighbours.”
