LOGAN City Council says it has investigated allegations of health and safety breaches at their Main St development in Beenleigh.
Videos in last week’s MyCity Logan, and now online, showed multiple safety concerns.
“Logan City Council health and safety advisors have reviewed the videos and will provide guidance on how safety measures can be improved,” a spokesperson said.
“There has been a detailed discussion with the contractor and the construction team on the safety issues and the contractor will provide additional training to the workforce and reinforce the project’s stakeholder objectives.”
A council spokesperson said health and safety matters were treated with utmost importance, and the organisation would proactively address any issues that have risen.
He said council had conducted public safety and access audits throughout the duration of the project.
Fences are expected to be taken down at the project on Friday and completion of the project is believed to be on schedule, a relief to shopkeepers, some who have seen a drop in business during three months of construction.
