WE mightn’t know when the election is going to be, but it hasn’t prevented the government from stooping to negativity and deceit already.
We’re seeing ‘Mediscare’ 2.0. The LNP is “coming for Medicare” they claim.
This despite… the Coalition having already announced significant investment in women’s health, mental health support and $400 million to strengthen our pipeline of home-made GPs.
This despite… Department of Health data showing bulkbilling has collapsed since Labor came into government.
The Albanese Labor Government never let facts get in the way of a good scare campaign.
Out-of-pocket consult costs for patients in Forde have shot up in the last three-years.
That’s not me saying that – that’s from a new report by respected healthcare company Cleanbill.
“It is more difficult for a regular adult to find a bulk billing or low out-of-pocket cost GP in these electorates – Forde, Rankin and Wright – today, than it was two years ago,” Cleanbill CEO James Gillespie said in recent weeks.
“Significant declines,” he said.
People who are already struggling under Labor’s cost-of-living crisis are now facing sky-rocketing healthcare costs as well.
It has literally never been harder or more expensive to see a GP.
This is having a serious and lasting impact on families. More than 1.5 million Australians avoided seeing a GP in 2023-24 due to cost concerns – a shocking 25% increase in just one year.
This is not a choice that Australian households should be faced with.
Bulkbilling rates in Forde have plummeted from 97.1% in 2020 when we were in power – to 84.3% in 2023 under Labor.
Again, not my words, but findings from a Senate Committee.
I am focused on ensuring the people of Forde have timely and affordable access to the essential healthcare they need.
Three-years-ago people were promised life would be cheaper under Labor. We now know that was a complete fallacy.
