Last week, performers from Ashtons Circus took to the stage in a different kind of way, dazzling residents at a nearby aged care home with a lifetime of skills.
Last Tuesday, three performers from Ashtons Circus – which is stationed at Waller Park in Browns Plains until February 12 – held a small show for residents at Calamvale Care facility.
Owner and managing director of Ashton Entertainment, Chantel Ashton-Rodriguez said giving back to the community is important.
“We are very appreciative for what we get to do as performers and we love meeting everybody who sees us perform and the communities that support us,” she said.
“We try to give back to the community in each town that we visit.”
The performers, including Ms Ashton-Rodriguez herself, showed of their skills with hula hoops, lassos and juggling balls.
Ms Ashton-Rodriquez said it brought joy to the residents.
“We understand for some of the residents it’s not an option to visit our show, so we love that we can bring a little bit of circus magic to them,” she said.
“Some of the residents remember visiting Ashtons Circus when they were kids. How special is that?”
Ms Ashton-Rodriquez said Ashtons’ performers regularly volunteer in the community.
Last week, juggler Cody performed at a child care centre.
“We are all about giving back to the community and we are glad everyone enjoys our shows.”
