The February-March floods have cost ratepayers about $10 million, a figure released in the Logan City Council annual report.
It pinpointed damage to local infrastructure as a core challenge over the past financial year.
Mayor Darren Power said the annual report was an opportunity for council to be accountable to the community.
The report, released last week, pinpoints highlights of the year’s billion-dollar budget, including the Australia-first biochar facility, the refurbishment of KBF cultural precinct and construction of the new Logan Central PCYC.
“We delivered a visionary $1 billion budget for the first time in our 42-year history and began recruiting for a permanent chief executive officer,” Cr Power said.
“Since Darren Scott joined us as CEO in January, the organisation has been delivering even better outcomes for our community and we look forward to seeing the organisation evolve and adapt under his leadership.”
Cr Power said council’s assets valuation had increased by $522 million over the past 12 months, with the organisation managing $6.86 billion worth of assets, including infrastructure, on behalf of the community.
