New steel plant takes shape

The new Beenleigh Steel Fabrication facility at Berrinba is taking shape and when it’s finished by the end of June there will be more than 40 new jobs to be added to the BSF workforce.

The construction schedule has been delayed, but builders are pouring concrete and getting the steel frame up.

Director, Anthony Stoeckert said he was putting the word out to boilermakers and welders to join the business.

“Beenleigh Steel Fabrication is investing in our future by building and relocating to new state-of-the-art premises in Gilmore Road, Berrinba,” Mr Stoeckert said.

“We have outgrown our Crestmead workshop and we need to upgrade our tooling and infrastructure.

“We are increasing our workspace to two larger sheds with higher capacity overhead cranes that will mean a better flow of our fabrication through the work areas.

“Our work has always had the highest quality assurance however we will become more efficient in reaching the required standard at our new facility.”

Mr Stoeckert said BSF had achieved the reputation of being a go-to company for major construction fabrication needs.

“This expansion will further enhance this reputation and help us secure our place as a leading supplier with an exciting future in an exciting construction industry,” he said.
