A house for neigh-sayers up for auction

This home only has three-bedrooms on more than 12 acres in Greenbank, but it comes equipped with the space to expand and the resources to set up a family serious about their horses.

Its selling points are an equestrian sand area, undercover stables, a small industrial-scale shed, up to five useable acres, and a large wrap around balcony around the main house, sitting next to an inground pool.

110 Attunga Road, Greenbank, will go to auction on March 12.

Current owner Christine Thompson said she would have loved to have stayed put if not for the long hours spend on the road as an equine therapist.

“I’ve loved living in the area and the friendly neighbours,” she said.

“But I’ve been spending a lot of time at the far end of the gold coast and travel is getting a bit much.

“Otherwise we’d stay here forever.”

Since taking over the property seven years ago, Ms Thompson said they have upgraded the facilities to suit an equine specialist.

“We put in the floodlit sand arena and stables out the front,” Ms Thompson said.

Ulises Vasquez from Acreage Life by Crafted Property said the home’s floorplan could be expanded upon.

“There space is there and it’s an easy to work on home to be able to add that extension,” he said.

“It’s quintessential, sought after acreage – it’s got the pool, the shed, the stables, and on top of that you’ve got the extra of having the arena as well, which not every property has.”

A new Colourbond roof was installed over the home. It covers the floor plan and the expansive balcony that wraps around the floor plan.

The balcony to the left of the open-planned dining and lounge rooms has been used as a two-car port. There are also options to store up to three cars in the shed.

Close to the home, a 12m by 9m powered shed comes complete with an airconditioned office built into it, pressurised water, and an attached water tank.

The stables have a wash area benefiting from solar hot water and an on-site dam.
