The festive season is officially in full swing! it is a time for us to be jolly, but it is also an opportunity to pause and reflect on the important things in life like our families, our friends, and our community.
In Logan we are fortunate enough to have many caring individuals and organisations that offer a helping hand to those who need it most.
So, this Christmas I encourage you to get into the spirit of giving and lend your helping hands to one of our amazing local organisations.
Lighthouse Care provides support to people from all walks of life by providing discounted groceries and emergency food relief.
This Christmas you can aid Lighthouse Care by either sponsoring a gift for a child, making a monetary donation, buying a gift card for a family to use at Lighthouse or by filling a grocery bag to help a family in need.
You can find more information on how to help at: lighthousecare.org.au/christmas/
Be an Elf aims to make Christmas a special time for all children helping thousands of our local children in need. This year marks the 15th year of Be an Elf Christmas Appeal.
You can get involved by fulfilling the Christmas wishes of a child or by volunteering to wrap gifts, helping in the Be an Elf headquarters or delivering gifts.

Keeping children safe this Christmas is also a high priority.
Every year, more and more children have access to some form of electronics.
There are a few different strategies you can employ to keep your children safe online. Particularly if you or Santa plan on gifting your child a phone, computer, or gaming console this Christmas.
Supervision and checking your privacy settings are essential, but so is having open conversations with your children as often as possible.
Coming forward isn’t always easy so being approachable on this topic can help prevent them hiding something from you online. Finally, should the worst happen, knowing when, where and how to report is critical.
