A man, aged 35, has been charged with attempted murder of a woman at Woodridge last Thursday.
Police allege the man tried to suffocate the woman before cutting her throat with a knife.
The man contacted police an hour later and was late last week under police guard at Logan Hospital.
The woman was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition with significant head and facial injuries.
