Let’s get vaccinated

With the Delta virus on our doorstep, Queensland is in a race against COVID-19.

Thankfully our best defence against the virus is free, safe and readily available.

The COVID vaccine protects you. It protects your loved ones. It safeguards our community, state and country.

It’s our ticket out of this pandemic.

Right now, with case numbers remaining low, we’ve got a golden opportunity to get prepared for when Delta arrives.

But we have to continue increasing our vaccination rate, particularly in Logan where uptake needs to accelerate.

The good news is there are plenty of options for Logan residents to get vaccinated.

Walk-ins are welcome at Logan Entertainment Centre. You can call your GP or a participating local pharmacist. Or simply register online via vaccinebookings.health.qld.gov.au.

This weekend you can also head along to some of our local schools – Woodridge State High School, Browns Plains State High School, and Kingston State College – where pop-up vax hubs will be operating on Saturday and Sunday.

We successfully ran these earlier in the month, and we’re bringing them back to help get more of you vaccinated.

The hubs are staffed by Queensland Health, with support from school volunteers: students, teachers and other staff members.

These Queenslanders are everyday heroes, and I thank them greatly for giving up their weekends to help others.

We’ve held onto our freedoms in Queensland far too long to fall at this final hurdle.

Our state has done an immense job following the health advice, masking up, checking in, getting tested. Now, we’ve just got to get vaccinated.

So please, to everyone in Logan, roll up your sleeves and lets power towards our vaccination targets.

Tell your family. Your friends. Your neighbours and colleagues. Let’s all get vaccinated.
