20 Years of B&C Plastics: Celebrating the journey and building the next chapter.
For Wendy and Royston Kent, receiving two major awards at the 2026 Logan Business Distinction Awards was about much more than adding trophies to the cabinet. It was recognition of 20 years spent building, evolving and challenging what an Australian manufacturing business could become.
Since 2006, B&C Plastics has grown from a family-owned plastics manufacturer into an advanced manufacturing business spanning product development, engineering, manufacturing, automation and circularity. Being named winner of the Environmental and Sustainability Award and receiving the inaugural Business Hall of Fame Award recognised two decades of hard work, progress and purpose.
“We have invested an enormous amount of time, research, effort and resources into changing the way we think about plastics and manufacturing,” Wendy said. “To have that recognised by our own business community means so much to us.”
The award they were told they would never win
For a plastics manufacturer, winning an Environmental and Sustainability Award (sponsored by Performance Studios) carries particular significance. Wendy and Royston had been told more than once that it was an award a Plastics Company could never win. They chose to challenge that thinking.
B&C has worked to change the conversation around plastics, investing in circular manufacturing and demonstrating how plastic can be recovered, transformed and returned to productive use. That thinking now extends beyond B&C, with the business collaborating across industry, universities, healthcare and government to explore better ways to manufacture and create value from resources.
The Hall of Fame Award presented by the Logan Chamber of Commerce, recognised the journey that made that evolution possible.
“You think about where we started, the people who have worked alongside us, our customers, the hurdles and the opportunities we made,” Wendy said. “This award belongs to our entire team.”
The next chapter
B&C’s 20th anniversary also marks the beginning of its biggest evolution yet.
Over two decades, specialist departments were built within B&C to support its customers and manufacturing operations. Each business has its own purpose, identity and market, while remaining connected by the knowledge, experience and problem-solving mindset built over 20 years.
What started as departments has become businesses. What started as one business is becoming an ecosystem.
