The bank that’s backed community for 20 years

Community Bank Logan Village is celebrating 20 years in the community this year.

Based at Logan Village, the bank covers the Flagstone, Yarrabilba and Jimboomba areas.

Community Bank is heavily involved in the community supporting many events in these areas.

One coming up is Flagstone Flavour and Sounds Festival in November.

Flagstone based events management company, Heatwave Productions, is putting on the event.

Heatwave Productions owner Adam Harris said Community Bank was sponsoring the fireworks at the end of the night and helping the festival become a reality.

“Flagstone doesn’t have a signature event,” Mr Harris said.

He said this was the first time the festival is being held at Flagstone.

The festival is all about flavour and sounds and there is no shortage.

Mr Harris said the Killer Queen Experience, One Voice and Never Ending 80s were among some of the performers.

“[I want to] shake it up and put on something that has a bit of everything,” Mr Harris said.

There will be a wide range of cuisines available, with ten food vendors already secured and the possibility for more to come.

The music and food have been put together by Mr Harris, along with production and staging.

“At the moment, it’s me, myself and I organising it,” Mr Harris said.

He also plans to have a sideshow alley with rides for children of all ages.

“I want to make it an epic event and great family day,” Mr Harris said.

Community Bank Logan Village reinvest their profits into the community, helping events such as Flagstone Festival.

The bank has given back $1.25 million to community over its 20 years of operation.

The bank supports programs and initiatives such as 5Fold’s Road Ready program, the upgrade of the Flagstone Tigers change rooms and a volunteers thank you day.

Community Bank Logan Village chair Sonia Hasted said the continual support stands out to her.

“Our biggest focus is working with the youth and helping be a part of something that changes life at a local level,” Ms Hasted said.

Community Bank’s official 20th birthday is on Friday, 6 November.
