A Buccan man was among several drivers charged during a weekend police traffic blitz across Brisbane’s south.
Queensland Police said South Brisbane officers conducted more than 2000 random breath tests and 52 roadside drug tests on Friday as part of Operation Xray Moffatt.
Police said 11 people were charged with drink driving and seven people were charged with driving while on drugs.
A total of 149 traffic infringement notices were issued across Upper Mount Gravatt, Kuraby and Tingalpa.
A 45-year-old Buccan man was given a notice to appear after police intercepted him at Kuraby for a roadside drug test.
Police said a saliva test returned a positive result for drugs.
The man was charged with unlicensed driving and driving while a relevant drug was present.
He was due to appear in Richlands Magistrates Court on 28 August.
Police said further road safety operations were carried out on Saturday as part of Operation Yankee Interpose, a high-visibility operation targeting dangerous driving behaviour.
Officers from Bayside Patrol Group and Capalaba Tactical Crime Squad conducted 613 random breath tests during the Saturday operation.
A 36-year-old man was also charged after allegedly returning a blood alcohol concentration of 0.238 per cent.
