Two boys charged following machete-armed property crime spree

Two Logan Central boys have been charged after police alleged they entered a number of properties while armed with machetes during a string of offences across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Logan.

Queensland Police said detectives from the Upper Mount Gravatt Crime Team charged the boys following an investigation into alleged break-ins, car thefts and stealing offences on 11 and 12 June.

Police will allege the pair targeted multiple properties while carrying machetes and used a series of stolen vehicles to move between locations.

It is further alleged the boys entered multiple premises and houses using a stolen Honda Civic, Hyundai Santa Fe and Lexus.

A 15-year-old Logan Central boy was charged with several offences, including attempting to enter a dwelling with intent to commit an indictable offence while armed, burglary, enter premises with intent, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, robbery, stealing and dangerous operation of a vehicle.

A 14-year-old Logan Central boy was charged with the same offences.

Both boys were remanded in custody and were due to appear in Brisbane Children’s Court on 23 June.

Anyone with information has been urged to contact Policelink or Crime Stoppers.
