Slacks Creek, Logan Central boys charged over alleged armed e-bike robbery at Broadbeach

Two 13-year-old boys from Slacks Creek and Logan Central have been charged following an alleged armed robbery at Broadbeach.

Police allege a 16-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy were outside a fast-food restaurant on Australia Avenue about 9.15pm on Wednesday, 15 April when they were approached by two boys unknown to them.

It is alleged the two boys threatened the teenagers with a knife and demanded their electric bikes before fleeing the scene on the stolen e-bikes.

Officers were called and carried out patrols in the area, following the incident.

Investigations later led to one boy being arrested on Queen Street and the second on Jane Street at Southport a short time later.

Both allegedly stolen e-bikes were recovered.

The Slacks Creek boy and the Logan Central boy have each been charged with two counts of armed robbery and are due to appear in the Southport Children’s Court on 16 April.
