Opinion: A new chapter for the Beenleigh Aquatic Centre

A few days ago, our community celebrated an important milestone with the opening of the newly upgraded Beenleigh Pool. While the excitement of opening day has passed, the significance of this redevelopment continues to be felt across Beenleigh and the wider Logan region.

Earlier in the week, I joined Member for Forde Rowan Holzberger, Logan Mayor Jon Raven and Division 12 councillor Karen Murphy to unveil the revitalised Beenleigh Aquatic Centre.

The strong turnout reflected the pride locals have in a facility that has served families for more than 60 years and is now ready for future generations.

Close to 400 community members contributed feedback that helped shape a modern, accessible and family‑friendly centre.

The upgrade includes a 50‑metre heated pool, expanded children’s play area, shaded seating, multi‑purpose rooms, modern changerooms, a kiosk and improved accessible amenities, along with a new carpark.

The $23.1million Stage 2 investment delivers a contemporary, inclusive hub for recreation, fitness and community connection.

The Beenleigh Aquatic Centre is now open and already being enjoyed by locals.

For those who haven’t yet visited, I encourage you to stop by and experience this outstanding community asset firsthand.
