Police declared a Marsden tobacconist store a crime scene after it was set on fire this morning.
Police allege the fire, which began at the Barklya Place store before 2.45am on Wednesday, 25 March, when emergency services arrived on the scene, was an arson attack.
Police said their initial investigations indicated that a man had broken into the store and lit the fire.
Police said the man was travelling in a white car, which he used to flee the scene.
Emergency services extinguished the fire a short time after they arrived at the scene.
Police have asked members of the public who witnessed the suspicious behaviour at the time around the attack, or who may have footage of the fire, to come forward.
Their investigations continue.
