A Leichhardt man, 30, has been charged after an alleged armed robbery at a service station in Logan Central early this morning.
Detectives from the Logan Criminal Investigation Branch say a woman, 25, was approached by a man at a service station on Wembley Road around 1.50am on 19 March as she returned to her car.
Police allege the man, armed with a screwdriver, demanded the keys to the vehicle and then man then drove away in her Kia K4.
The woman was not physically injured during the incident.
Police said they monitored the car as it travelled north into Brisbane. At about 3.45am, officers tracked the car to an address on Scott Street at Stafford Heights.
It is alleged that when police approached the vehicle, the driver deliberately rammed two police cars in an attempt to avoid arrest, damaging both vehicles.
Police say the driver then got out of the car and tried to run away before he was arrested nearby.
The arrest followed what police said was a coordinated operation involving multiple units, including the Tactical Crime Squad, Criminal Investigation Branch detectives, general patrol officers and the dog squad.
Police charged the man with two counts of damaging an emergency vehicle, and one count each of armed robbery and dangerous driving.
He is expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court later today.
Police said their investigations were ongoing.
