Tribute show celebrating four music legends coming to Logan stage

A tribute show celebrating some of the biggest names in popular music is set to take the stage at Logan Entertainment Centre next month.

The four-in-one matinee performance will pay homage to Engelbert Humperdinck, Tom Jones, Dolly Parton and Olivia Newton-John when it arrives at the venue on Sunday, 12 April.

The afternoon show will feature performers Raff De and Lisa Stewart, backed by a live band and professional dancers, in a concert designed to showcase some of the best-known songs from the four artists.

Gold Coast performer Mr De, a singer, guitarist and songwriter, will perform songs made famous by Engelbert Humperdinck and Tom Jones.

Known for his energetic stage presence, Mr De has built a reputation performing classic hits and crowd favourites.

Joining him on stage will be international entertainer Ms Stewart, who will perform Dolly Parton classics before turning to songs associated with Olivia Newton-John.

Ms Stewart, a member of the band Street Café, will also incorporate saxophone performances during the show.

The performers will also team up for several well-known duets, including Islands in the Stream, originally recorded by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, and You’re the One That I Want from the film Grease.

The production includes a live band led by musical director Alan Laguda, with dancers from the Ceroc Dance Company adding to the stage show.

Organiser Wendy Kristoffersen said the event was designed as a family-friendly afternoon of entertainment celebrating well-known songs from several generations of popular music.

The show begins at 2.30pm, with doors opening at 2pm.

The Logan Entertainment Centre’s Limelight Bistro and Bar will open earlier in the day for patrons who want to dine before the performance.

Tickets are available through the Logan Entertainment Centre box office.
