There is something special about watching a young person sell the very first thing they have ever made.
The Creative Kids Market, powered by 5FOLD, is a welcoming community event where young people up to 18 years of age can explore creativity, confidence and the basics of business. Held in May, it is more than just a market day, it is a hands-on learning experience where small ideas can grow into real opportunities.
Our mission is to empower young people to begin their entrepreneurship journey while they are still at school. By creating and selling their own products, they learn that their ideas have real value. They practise setting prices, speaking with customers and taking responsibility for their stalls. Many even begin what they proudly call their first side hustle.
A big part of the market is helping young people understand money in a positive and practical way. When they earn their own income, they start to see the difference between spending and saving. We encourage them to think about bigger future goals such as saving for their first car or another important milestone. The idea is simple but powerful. Turning selling into saving.
At the Creative Kids Market imagination leads the way. Young stallholders sell handmade jewellery, baked treats, artwork, slime, candles, bookmarks, keyrings and even plants they have grown themselves. Each stall reflects the creator’s interests, effort and personality.
To strengthen the experience we partner with our local Community Bank as our Savings Supporter and invite local business men and women to attend as Business Buddies. These community minded professionals spend time encouraging the young stallholders and sharing their real life business experience.
Families attending the market can expect a vibrant and supportive atmosphere filled with creativity, encouragement and community spirit. It is a day that celebrates young ideas, big dreams and the confidence to give something new a go.
