A Beenleigh woman is celebrating after winning $1.3 million in the lottery.
The local mum says she almost missed out on the prize, which was drawn on Saturday, after buying the winning ticket only five minutes before the draw closed.
“I was busy washing the dogs on Saturday evening when I suddenly realised there was only five minutes left before the draw closed,” she said.
“I checked the ticket straight after the draw on Saturday and I couldn’t get to sleep. My heart was racing 200 miles an hour.
“I was a zombie at work the next day.
“This will be my favourite memory in life.”
The woman said her winnings would go towards buying a home.
“My kids are my priority, and I’ll be purchasing our very first home so they can live more comfortably. I can’t believe it – a home in my name.
“I also can visit my family overseas more often. My mum and sisters live overseas, and I only ever see them every three years because the costs of flights are too high but now, I can see them more.”
