A Regents Park woman who won $100,000 has promised to use the money to help her loved ones – as well as treating herself to a new diamond ring.
The local lady won the cash thanks to a scratchcard.
When she learned of the prize, her first response was to pledge a portion of the funds to helping those around her.
To start, she said she would surprise her family and friends with deposits into their banks.
“I’ve always loved giving to others,” the woman said.
“I have everything I need in life – I’ve always felt rich because I have great family and friends.
“I’ve had hard times in my life and people have always helped me, so now I give back as much as possible.”
Next, she said she would buy herself a diamond ring as a reminder of the win.
“I’ve always been generous, and my husband said he thinks this is my turn to experience what it’s like to be on the receiving end.
“Funnily enough, I decided sometime last year to start waking up every day and walking around like I’d won a major lottery prize. Now it has actually come true.”
