Slacks Creek man arrested over alleged connection to robbery in Toowoomba

A 25-year-old man from Slacks Creek was charged with armed robbery, committing a serious assault, and dangerous driving following an alleged robbery at a business in Toowoomba last week, police said.

Police allege that at 4.15am on Friday, 12 September, two men assaulted an employee standing outside a Westbrook bakery before stealing money from the cash register inside the store and running away on foot.

The injured employee, a 22-year-old Centenary Heights man, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries to his eye and head, police said.

Two days later, at 2.15pm on Sunday, 14 September, police searched a property in Kearneys Spring, also in Toowoomba, where they arrested the Slacks Creek man and a 27-year-old man from Oakey.

Both men are expected to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on 3 November.
