Motorbike rider killed in crash while ‘overtaking’ at JImboomba

A motorbike rider police say crashed while overtaking cars “on the wrong side of the road” has died.

Emergency services were called to Green Ridge Road, Jimboomba at about 4.30pm on 30 August following reports of a crash involving a motorbike and car.

“Initial investigations indicate the rider was overtaking a number of vehicles on the wrong side of the road when the white LVD station wagon made a right turn and collided with the motorbike,” police said in a statement.

“The rider of the motorbike, a 27-year-old Wonglepong man, died at the scene.”

The forensic crash unit is investigating the crash, and appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
