Twelve riders of the Emmaus College equestrian team have done Logan proud at the Southeast Queensland regional championships.
They fought wet weather and tough conditions to be named the champion primary school at the event.
“This is one of the major competitions prior to the state championships and this year the classes were huge,” coordinator Maria Gould said.
“Both riders and parents have been preparing for this for weeks. Over three days the 12 Emmaus riders collectively competed in 38 dressage tests, 32 jump rounds and 12 show horse workouts which is a massive effort.”
The school was also named champion secondary showhorse team, champion primary showjumping team, champion primary combined training team.
It is the third time Emmaus has been named the region’s champion primary school.
Scarlett Landman was named champion primary working hunter, Taylah Noy the champion intermediate working hunter and Evie Blissett the reserve champion intermediate show hack.
Lyla Simpson came up trumps as champion primary 50cm, Ariana Sing champion in the primary 60cm and 70cm, and Scarlett Landman reserve champion in primary 60cm.
Ayshia Noy was reserve champion in her dressage category.
“All 12 riders and parents showed persistence with the challenging weather, full days and juggling draws with multiple rides as well as great care and support for each other,” Ms Gould said.
The next challenge will be the state championships in the June holidays.
