Police last week charged a man who allegedly stole a sports car from a 26-year-old woman at Runcorn.
Police said at 9.30am, the woman had returned to her car when the man “threatened her, pretending to be armed with a gun, before forcing her out of the driver’s seat and driving off along Beenleigh Road in an easterly direction.”
The woman was hurt in a struggle.
The car was later sighted in South Brisbane where it was alleged to be driven in a dangerous manner. Patrolling police searching for the stolen car spotted it travelling on Logan road and followed it.
Both vehicles stopped at the corner of Creek and Logan roads.
Following a struggle police managed to remove the man and arrest him.
The man, 40, was charged with robbery with violence, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle for committing an indictable offence, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle with prior conviction, evade police and obstruct police.
Anyone with further information about the Subaru or the driver is encouraged to contact police.
