Police allege man shot twice, another charged with attempted murder

A man, 62, who allegedly shot another man twice at a Bethania home over the weekend has been charged with attempted murder.

Police allege an argument broke out between two men, known to each other, on Claredon Street at about 5.55pm on Saturday 7 June.

A 35-year-old man was shot twice – in the shoulder and the chest – and taken to PA Hospital in “potentially life-threatening condition”, according to paramedics.

Police said he remains in a stable condition.

The 62-year-old Bethania man has been charged with attempted murder, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and failing to securely store a weapon.

He is expected to apepar in court today.
