New exhibitions to open at Logan Art Gallery

Logan Art Gallery will unveil six new exhibitions on Friday, 28 March, with a series of artist talks and an official opening.

Artists Ally McKay, Nicola Hooper, and Jacques van der Merwe will speak at 5.30pm, followed by an official opening at 6pm by Professor Ross Woodrow from Griffith University.

The exhibitions, running until 11 April, will feature a 30-year anniversary collection showcase and copper art cases from the National Gallery of Australia, displaying First Nations works focused on land and country.

The new exhibitions include:

  • A Bestiary of Reverie – Nicola Hooper examines interspecies relationships through historical and virus-induced human-animal hybrids.
  • Paper Parts – Ally McKay conveys deep emotions and meaning through sculptural works.
