A team member of Woolworths Jimboomba supermarket has tested positive for the coronavirus and is self-isolating, the store has reported.
The store, along with the management of Perks Cafe Jimboomba, are reporting contact with COVID-19 on the same date, August 24.
“We have been contacted by Queensland Health Department and informed that a patron with Covid dined at our establishment on August 24 between 10am and 10.45am,” the store told customers on their Facebook page.
“We ask any patrons that visited Perk’s Cafe on this day or later to please monitor their health and if they develop any covid symptoms to please get tested.
“As always the health and safety of all our team and patrons is of utmost importance and top priority. Therefore, we have temporarily closed our cafe for a deep clean and for us to get covid tests done. We are likely to remain closed up to September 4 however, if we are able to open sooner we will let you know on here.
“We appreciate your understanding and support at this unfortunate time. Let’s all stay safe and we will be back soon.”
The Woolworths Jimboomba team member last worked at the store on August 24.
“We’re making contact with our team members and providing our full support to those required to self-isolate in line with advice from the health authorities,” a Woolworths statement said.
“As a food reatiler, we already have very high standards of cleaning and hygiene in place. As an extra precautionary measure we have undertaken an additional deep clean of the store.
“While the risk of transmission to customers and team members is low, the safety and wellbeing of the local community is our priority. Customers and team members should be assured they can continue to safely shop and work at our Jimboomba store.
“Any customers who shopped in our Jimboomba store on August 24 and feel unwell in the next two weeks should make contact with the health authorities.”
