Thank you Woodridge, I am proud to represent you.

Thank you Woodridge, I am proud to represent you.

I was deeply honoured to be re-elected as the state member for Woodridge at the recent state election. I am grateful for the continued trust and support by the community.

I know that Woodridge is more than just a place on a map; it’s a vibrant, strong, and resilient community that looks out for one another, where we are truly #All4114All.

In Woodridge, we understand the importance of working together, of lifting each other up, and of making sure no one is left behind.

Our community spirit is built on these values, and it’s why we continue to grow stronger each day.

Woodridge represents the best of Queensland – people from diverse backgrounds working towards common goals, supporting each other, and striving for a better future.

I was also recently honoured to be elected unopposed as the Deputy Leader of the opposition. In this new role, I will continue to do what matters for Queenslanders and for our community.

Now, more than ever, it is important for a strong and vigorous opposition to hold the Crisafulli LNP Government to account for the many promises they made in the recent state election.

I will fight hard to ensure that the Woodridge election and the City of Logan gets its fair share, particularly quality education, improved health services, safer neighbourhoods, and job opportunities that provide security for our families.

These are issues that have always mattered to me because I know they matter to our community.

From local building projects to new opportunities, I am determined to ensure our community’s needs are always met.

I know that the strength of Queensland lies in the success of communities like ours. When Woodridge succeeds, we all do.

Working together, we can continue to build a future where everyone in our community has the chance to thrive.

It’s a privilege to represent you, and I am committed to making sure that your voices are heard.

Celebrating the New Croydon Road Precinct

The newly upgraded Croydon Road Precinct is now open, bringing a fresh and vibrant space to the heart of Woodridge.

This upgrade marks a significant milestone for our community, transforming the area into a welcoming hub filled with green spaces, outdoor dining areas, and public amenities that will serve us well into the future.

The Croydon Road Precinct is also the home of our marvellous Woodridge Global Food Markets.

These markets, known for showcasing a variety of global cuisines, have become a cornerstone of our community, celebrating Woodridge’s diversity and bringing together people from all backgrounds, as well as drawing visitors to our community from around Australia.

The markets are more than just a place to find delicious food and first-class produce – they’re a gathering point that fosters connection, supports local businesses, and highlights our multicultural community spirit.

A special thank you to Paul Khieu and Dean Khieu and the Woodridge Global Food Markets for their support of the upgrade, and their dedication and commitment to making the markets a thriving part of our community.

This project wouldn’t have been possible without the commitment of Logan City Council, especially Councillor Teresa Lane. Her ongoing advocacy for this precinct has helped transform Croydon Road.

I am excited to see the continued progress of the Croydon Road Precinct, as our local businesses develop and grow following the upgrade.

The next phase in the Croydon Road journey is the planned upgrade of Woodridge Station, which will not only deliver an increase in train services but will also enhance safety and accessibility for everyone.

This investment in our transport infrastructure by the former Labor Government will make it easier and more convenient for people to visit, work, and live in Woodridge, and it will help connect our community more seamlessly with the rest of South East Queensland.

Congratulations to the Class of 2024!

It is truly heartening to see so many young people in our community completing high school.

I’ve had the privilege of witnessing students from Marsden State High School, Browns Plains State High School, Woodridge State High School, and St Francis College achieve this significant milestone.

It fills me with pride and confidence knowing that Woodridge continues to produce exceptional young people who will certainly make valuable contributions to our community and beyond.

I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the graduates for their resilience and determination in completing Year 12.

I also want to express my deep gratitude and thanks to all teachers and school staff who have played such a vital role in educating these students.

Their hard work and commitment to nurturing and guiding young minds have made an enormous difference. The time, care, and mentorship they provide create lasting impressions on these students.

A big thank you is also due to the parents and volunteers who have supported these students along their education journey.

Whether you’re part of a P&C Committee, helping in tuckshops, or serving as a relief teacher, your involvement has played a critical role in shaping these graduate’s success.

To this year’s graduates: You are the role models for future students in Woodridge. Your success is a powerful example to other students.

Once again, I express my congratulations to you on behalf of our community. The future truly belongs to you!
