COMMUNITY consultation is so important to me. It was one of my core election promises, and I believe it will play an important role in transforming our city for the better.
That’s why I’m starting a regular community listening tour of local shopping centres.
My first stop will be the Logan Hyperdome, where I’ll be setting up a “Meet the Mayor” on Thursday, 29 August from 2:30-4:30pm.
Come and visit me, let’s have a chat, and give me your feedback about ways to make our city’s future even brighter.
I’ll share the exact location in the shopping centre on my Facebook page a little closer to the date.
This is just the first of what I hope to be many “Meet the Mayor” events around Logan. I’d love it to be a regular thing.
I’d like to make my way through as many shopping centres as possible, through all divisions.
We are a city that’s only two thirds built, with the youngest and most diverse community in Queensland, so the opportunities here are worth celebrating and promoting.
On my Facebook page, I often share snippets of the busy life of a Mayor.
What you don’t always see is that everywhere I go, I am flying the flag for your city.
I tell everyone I meet about Logan’s huge potential, our amazing community and encouraging them to bring their investment and jobs here.
If we’re going to reach the full potential that Logan has, we need to do things differently and better. So I’m asking for your great ideas. They won’t all get taken up, but if you’ve got them – I want to hear about them.
If you can’t make it to my “Meet the Mayor” event at the Hyperdome, but believe you also have a great idea, please email my office at mayor@logan.qld.gov.au.
I’d also love to hear what shopping centre you think I should visit next.
Leadership is about listening, and I’m proud to do that.
