Logan police descended on the Hyperdome to raise awareness for LGBTQIA+ Domestic Violence Awareness Day.
The Domestic and Family Violence Vulnerable Persons Unit are setting up information stalls at the centre to chat with and support locals.
“The core of this event is about raising awareness and supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, a group that is overrepresented in domestic violence statistics,” DSC Natalie Wilson said.
“It’s about breaking the silence, challenging stigmas and building a network of allies who stand ready to support and uplift one and other.
“It’s also a chance to learn, show support and snag a selfie with the friendliest officers around.”
The team will be at the Logan Hyperdome between 12pm and 2pm on Tuesday 28 May.
“Mark your calendars, bring your friends and let’s make a day to remember,” Ms Wilson said.
